The Bespoke Book Cover Design Process at FWC:
A Bespoke book cover should capture the essence of its author in the most intriguing, interesting, and authentic way. After understanding in depth the message, the audience, and the author’s intent, the team produces the first set of cover prototypes. The number of revisions required can vary from project to project, but usually, a minimum of 3 is necessary for the cover to be finalized. The visuals used, the typography, and the overall presentation depend on the nature of the author and the uniqueness of the information being presented. Each revision is followed by a meeting with the client to get feedback and advance towards the final design.
In addition to the cover, other important aspects include the potential use of slipcases, boxes, and other types of book containers. The possibilities are endless when it comes to the materials that can be used. Leather, cloth, customized preshaped plastic, precious metals, and stones… Only imagination, time constraints, and budget can limit the possibilities.
